New Extended Evening Hours For Some Guests — 2 Foolish Mortals

by maximios • Blog

Earlier this year Walt Disney World announced that they’d be doing away with Extra Magic Hours, a program that allowed guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels to enjoy extended hours in the parks. However, as we approach Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, more perks have been announced. We recently learned that guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels and some select hotels will be allowed early entry to every park every day starting October 1st, but the extended hours don’t stop there. Disney also announced that select guests will have access to extended evening hours at the parks on select nights.

Starting October 1st 2021, guests staying at Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resort hotels will have the ability to enjoy extended evening hours at select parks on select nights. Scheduling for these select dates and times have yet to be announced, but information will be shared at a later date. Guests will not only need to be staying Deluxe, but they’ll also need valid ticket or pass and a theme park reservation for the same park on the same day to experience extended evening hours. [It’s unclear if this allows guests to park hop to parks with extended hours. This seems a bit confusing in the original post, but we’ll be sure to clarify as soon as we know more.]

Though we are not sure exactly what this will look like, we anticipate it will be similar to Extra Magic Hours in some ways. Of course, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop and tell you what we know as soon as we know it.

Casey’s Corner Opens Today — 2 Foolish Mortals

by maximios • Blog

Earlier this week we talked about the possibility of Casey’s Corner opening back up at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Now, we know for sure. Casey’s Corner will open today, June 30th, for guests visiting Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park to enjoy.

Casey’s Corner is a favorite counter service restaurant on Main Street USA. They serve up hot dogs, fries and some other fan favorites like corn dog nuggets. The restaurant has been closed for quite some time, but in recent days we’ve seen some hints that suggest it would return soon. Fortunately, it wasn’t much of a wait!

Could Casey’s Corner Be Coming Back Soon? — 2 Foolish Mortals

by maximios • Blog

A Magic Kingdom favorite for hot dogs and fries might be gearing up to serve guests once again. Casey’s Corner, a counter service location on Main Street USA, has been closed for some time now with no specifics as to when it might open again, However, some hints might suggest that the location will be opening back up soon.

Guests visiting Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park have noticed some changes that might hint towards the park reopening. Signs outside of Casey’s Corner have recently been uncovered. These signs show where the outdoor seating is, designating an area where guests can enjoy their hot dogs and fries.

The second hint comes in the form of some offerings that will be available during a Cast Member preview of Disney’s nighttime fireworks; Happily Ever After. The preview, which happens later this week, will be part of an event called “Magic Kingdom Homecoming Ever After” and takes place after the park closes to guests. Among the offerings will be Casey’s Corner, where cast members can enjoy some of their favorites from the location before regular park guests.

Though the location is currently listed as Temporarily Unavailable in the My Disney Experience App, many feel that both of these things hint towards Casey’s Corner reopening sooner rather than later. Of course, without official word from Disney there’s no way to be sure. Either way, we’ll keep an eye out and let you know when the dining location opens back up once again.

New “Delish” Features Disney Parks Recipes — 2 Foolish Mortals

by maximios • Blog

One of the best ways to enjoy a little bit of Disney in the comfort of your own home is with recipes. After all, we’ve all got to eat. . . . . so why not eat something from the most magical place on earth? Here at 2 Foolish Mortals we try to share some of our favorite recipes [or at least our take on some of these recipes] with you from time to time, but if you’re looking for something a bit more official this might be just the thing for you.

Currently available for purchase through Amazon, Delish Loves Disney is a 94 page magazine that features recipes that come straight from Disney Parks. The magazine features recipes from Dole Whip to Grey Stuff as well as other delicious items that have been cooked up by the culinary masters over at the Disney Parks and Resorts. The magazine comes in at under $14.00 and would be a great way to bring some of the parks home or enjoy some of your favorite dishes between visits.

We’ve ordered out copy of Delish Loves Disney and are eagerly awaiting its arrival. Of course, we can’t wait to flip through and let you know what we think.

If you’re hoping to get your own copy, you can do that by visiting the link HERE and placing your order.

Plexiglass Being Removed From Queues — 2 Foolish Mortals

by maximios • Blog

Plexiglass dividers were added to ride queues when the parks reopened last year after an extended closure. These dividers stretched through the queues and prevented close contact between guests who were standing in close proximity to one another by creating a physical barrier.

Though effective, these plexiglass dividers came with their own set of challenges. In some cases, they could made the queues feel very small and a bit uncomfortable [such is the case with Grand Fiesta Tour] and in others they held a bit of heat and prevented a bit of airflow, making for what felt like an overly warm experience waiting in line. [We experienced this both at Slinky Dog Dash and Pirates of the Caribbean.]

The days of plexiglass dividers are coming to a close though!

All around Walt Disney World plexiglass is slowly being removed from ride queues. This is just one of the many health and safety protocols that has been relaxed in the past few weeks leading up to the peak summer season at the theme park.

The list of attractions that have removed plexiglass continues to grow, but includes some of our favorites: Peter Pan’s Flight, Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. We anticipate that we’ll see even more rides added to the list in the coming months as Walt Disney World makes its way back towards those pre-pandemic normals that we’ve all been hoping for.
